As important as it is to be a good clinician, the progresses that we see in diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and healthcare in general could not be possible without the basic, translational, and clinical research foundation they are built upon. I wanted to be a part of a program and among peers with like-minded goals of becoming the next generation of physician scientists, innovating and contributing toward a brighter future for patients who entrust us with their lives.
