The PSTP is pleased to announce that MS2 Aneta Kowalski was recently awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) grant for her upcoming PSTP research year!
Aneta’s mentor is Dr. Erin Kershaw in the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Medicine, Metabolism and diabetes division. Her project is titled "Role of CREBRF and its metabolic-risk variant in cardiac metabolism and function.”
Before matriculating at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in June of 2016, She completed a two-year postbaccalaureate IRTA fellowship at the National Institute of Health. Aneta earned her undergraduate degree from George Washington University in 2014. She grew up in the sunny state of Florida. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, and traveling.
