The PSTP is thrilled to announce that MS4 Ashti Shah was recently recognized by the Foundation of Systems Biology in Engineering with the annual “Young Investigator Award”!
Ashti completed her PSTP research year under the mentorship of Dr. Yoram Vodovotz in the Department of General Surgery. Here, she built on her computational biology foundation that she developed during her undergraduate years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Her research focuses on integrating Bayesian network analysis and dynamic hypergraphs to model the spread of inflammation throughout multiple organ systems involved in acute limb transplant rejection, trauma and hemorrhagic shock, endotoxemia, and massive wound healing following traumatic brain injury. Over her research year, she developed a software package to model the cross-tissue spread of inflammation. Ashti has published 10+ publications on this topic in the last two years. This fall, Ashti will be applying into Urology.
Wonderful job, Ashti!!
