3 PSTP students, Katherine Du, Puja Dutta, and Anya Singh-Varma, were recently awarded as Schweitzer fellows! The Schweitzer fellowship program "develops leaders in the direct service of improving health, promoting well-being, and advancing social and environmental justice for at-risk communities and underserved populations."
Katherine's project, taking place at the Western Pennsylvania School for the Blind, focuses on mindfulness and self-care amongst visually impaired students.
Puja's project will work on educating children of refugee and immigrant families on nutrition and mindful movement and integrating these lessons into daily life while working with South Hills Interfaith Ministry.
Anya's project will continue to serve Afghani refugee women by holding classes that provide information on topics such as nutrition, women's health, exercise, and obtaining access to healthcare for themselves and their children.
Congratulations everyone!
